Halkidiki is the “Mother of apiculture”. With 6.500 beekeepers (32% of the total of the country) and 1.910 tones production of high quality honey per year, fairly is called the center of apiculture in Greece. 2.300 years ago, Aristotelis, praised honey and its benefitsto the humans with the argument that honey extends life. Nowadays beekeepers of Halkidiki continue the tradition, reclaiming with the purest way the rich flora of Kassandra, Sithonia and North Halkidiki, producing big quantities of honey. The big quantities of traces in pine tree honey makes it the honey with the biggest nutrition value. The biggest apicultural center is Nikiti.

All over Halkidiki, rich variety of fruits are growing.
